Royal Society of Portrait Painters
The Royal Society of Portrait Painters seeks submissions from portrait artists for the 2019 Annual Exhibition. Successful applicants will be invited to exhibit their work at the London Mall Galleries. Artists may submit up to three works in any medium, including original prints, but not sculpture and photography. The submission fee is £18 per work (£12 for artists aged 35 or under). Work may be for sale, however, the required minimum price is £300.

Royal Water Colour Society
The Royal Water Colour Society Annual Competition provides a prestigious platform for artists. We encourage innovation and experimentation in any water-based medium on a paper support. This may include acrylic, gouache, ink, pigment, watercolour or a mixed media piece containing any of these.

The Ashurst Emerging Artist. This is awarded to artists who show significant potential, interesting and relevant ideas and skilful execution.

Artists and Illustrators
The Artist of the Year showcases the skill, imagination and talent of established and emerging artists. Shortlisted works are exhibited at London’s Mall Galleries, where artists get the opportunity to sell their work.
The contest offers four prizes worth more than £3,000 in total and the overall winner receives a £1,000 cash prize and a solo show.

Opportunities in ROME
The Royal Society of British Artists offers a golden opportunity to compete for the prestigious Rome Scholarship 2019. Artists aged 35 or under are invited to apply for this scholarship with four weeks work at a gallery/arts centre in Rome. The successful applicant will receive accommodation, studio space, meals, return flights to Rome together with £600 cash. Start your application now, however, work must be figurative and may include painting, drawing, printmaking or sculpture.

The Abbey Scholarship and Fellowships in Painting. The Scholarship offers a 9-month residency for an artist at The British School at Rome, with a monthly stipend of £800. Arts in Schools Window of Opportunity
There are artists opportunities open calls via the Schools toolkit which was launched by The Bacc for the Future campaign. The Cultural Learning Alliance and What Next? have begun Arts in Schools. The advocacy toolkit is designed to inform, help and inspire advocates to take further action against the downward trend of the arts in schools.
