The Great North Art Show

open call exhibitions for artists invites northern artists to submit work for an exciting exhibition of contemporary art, held in Ripon Cathedral, North Yorkshire.

Painters, printmakers, textile artists, photographers, sculptors, and illustrators can submit six artworks to be hung as a body of work.

Prizes available:
Best Picture in Show £1,000,
Best Artist and Body of Work in Show £1000,
Best Print or Etching in Show £750,
Great Art UK Prize for Best Newcomer £250.

DAF 2019
A Curious Festival Didsbury Arts Festival presents a range of events responding to the theme of ‘Curiosity’. We seek new work to be installed or performed during the festival, with the option to develop the work in the future.

DAF will commission up to three new works that will premiere at the festival. We are particularly interested in socially engaged work that connects the artist and artwork to the local community.

We aim to offer selected artists with a budget of up to £3,000 and will promote the commissioned works as highlights within our PR and marketing.

Qube Arts Open
The competition invites artists to submit any 2D, 3D or digital artworks for their annual exhibition in Oswestry. This year’s theme is ‘Our Planet’.

The overall winner gets a £500 prize, and there is a People’s Choice prize of a four-week solo exhibition at Qube.

The Bridgeman Studio Award 2018
offers a £1,500 
commission for the design of a tote bag for the Affordable Art Fair, plus £4,000 worth of space showcasing the artist’s work at the New York and London Affordable Art Fairs. Submit up to five images on the theme of ‘Art in mind’.

Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition

Artists are invited to submit up to six works for exhibition at our annual event at London’s Mall Galleries. Acceptable media: oils, acrylic and water-soluble oil paint if it is framed as an oil.

Submission fee: £18 per work (£12 per work for artists aged under 35). Work must have been completed in the last three years and must be for sale, minimum sale price £300.

RWA Annual Open Exhibition
Artists are invited to 
submit work for this mixed discipline selling the show in Bristol in Autumn 2018. Entry opens on 2 July 2018.

The ING Discerning Eye

promotes a wider appreciation of the visual arts and stimulates a debate about the place and purpose of art in our society. Our exhibition at London’s Mall Galleries is an opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be hung with internationally recognised names. All works must be for sale, and be within the maximum size limit of 20 inches (50cm).

Prizes include the ING Purchase Prize of £5000. Regional collection points including Manchester.

The Textile Society

Professional Development Award offers a bursary of £2,000 for artists who are practising in their chosen textile field: craft, design, curatorial, scientific or any other textile field.

The Ingram Collection

Purchase Prize Exhibition celebrates the work of young artists who graduated from art school within the last three

years. Winners have their works exhibited at London’s Cello Factory in November 2018, and up to three works will be purchased for the Ingram Collection. One artist wins a solo show in 2019.

The Jerwood Makers Open

is a development opportunity for early career makers. Ambitious and/or radical proposals are invited from UK-based makers within 10 years of starting their practice. We support work in a diverse range of materials and practices including glass, metal, wood, paper, textiles, ceramics, furniture and jewellery. Five artists receive £8000 each to create new work for a national touring exhibition.

The VIA Arts Prize
is a visual arts Ibero-American themed contest. Submit original works on the theme ‘Dialogues’. We accept painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, collage, drawing, engraving, digital print, textiles and tapestry. Film and performance art is not accepted.

1st prize £5,000, 2nd £2,000.
